There was a little concern when the director of “Planet of the Apes,” Rupert Wyat, passed the baton to Matt Reeves. Many thought that this would be a hasty and purely commercial production. However, Reeves was able to create tension and action in this film masterfully. In fact the first half of the film is pure distress and the second is made of sequences of pure adrenaline. Particularly, I believe the initial half is more interesting to deepen the culture of monkeys, for example, to see how their communication works, a mixture of its own dialect and sign languages??, is phenomenal.
